Horse Drinks Beer In Local Pub Every Sunday !!!
Every Sunday, a 9-year old Welsh Cob stallion called Basil visits his favorite pub the Meynell Ingram Arms in Burton, Staffordshire, mingles with the locals, and then sits back and orders up his favorite beer, Marson’s Pedigree Ale.
His drink is always waiting for him at the bar in his very own glass.
“Basil is one of a kind.” said manager Guy Wallis. “He’s been coming in the pub for years. After he’s been for a ride he loves nothing more than to come inside for a quiet pint, with the locals.”
“We’ve never got him drunk because we obviously don’t want to turn him into an alcoholic, but he’s allowed the occasional tipple.”
Wallis insists locals don’t mind sharing the bar with Basil… though there have been complaints he doesn’t ever get a round in.
He added that the 14.2 hands pony’s owners have been regulars at the pub for over ten years and he has often tried to get his hoof in the door. But few years ago they let him wander up to the bar… and now, they even give him some vegetables to go with his pint.
